This week, I’m talking about…
NEVERMOOR: THE TRIALS OF MORRIGAN CROW by JESSICA TOWNSEND
I have a LOT to say about this book! But I won’t spoil it for you, you just have to read it! Nevermoor is the first in what I hope will be a very long series. Morrigan Crow is a cursed child ; all her life, she has been told she is responsible for the townspeople’s misfortunes. Could this be any worse? Oh yeah, she’s destined to die when the clock strikes midnight on her eleventh birthday. Life for Morrigan isn’t great. But when the mysterious and excitable Jupiter North bounds into her life and saves her from this horrendous downfall, Morrigan’s life goes from gloomy to exciting. She is soon thrust into the magical world of Nevermoor, and into a series of tasks set to find great talent within. Morrigan is certain she doesn’t have a talent…but that can’t be right! Can it?
Nevermoor took me on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, and it has to be the biggest standout novel this autumn for children. Full of magic, mystery, and tons of imagination, you’ll be transported to a world of wunder and won’t want to leave at all. Leave your umbrellas at the door and be ready for this cast of characters to bowl you over with their amazing variety – trust me, you’ll love Fenestra. Morrigan herself is a brilliant blend of Violet Baudelaire and Wednesday Addams; and if that doesn’t persuade you then I don’t know what will.
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow is released on October 12th. Step boldly into to your local bookshop and pick up a copy! Feel free to read my review too!
