Unless you’ve been living under a rock since March 20th, you’ll know about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the new and long awaited instalment to the beloved Animal Crossing series! Whether you’ve been playing it yourself, watching playthrough videos online, or have just been seeing it non-stop on your Twitter feed, you’ll know that people are really loving this game!
So what better way to celebrate two things I love – books and video games – than with a brand new book tag created by the lovely Becky and Angharad over at Two Book Thieves! The questions are amazing – and so accurate to New Horizons, so I’m thrilled that it exists!
THE ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS BOOK TAG
Past Villager – Who is a character you found when you were younger that still has a place in your heart?
I still really love Draco Malfoy. Yes I know he can be awful, but he was a child warped by the hateful propaganda of his father and never got given a chance for a proper redemption arc which still annoys me.
Blather’s Blatherings – Recommend a historical fiction book that you think everybody should read
I don’t read much historical fiction at all – it isn’t my favourite genre! But if I had to choose, I would pick Dangerous Remedy as it’s set during the time of the French Revolution. Plus it’s excellent!
Celeste’s Wish – What is a future book release you wish you could read now?
I’d love to get my hands on a copy of the sequel to King of Scars! The first book ended on such a huge cliffhanger so I’m desperate to read the next one!
Timmy & Tommy – What is your favourite sibling relationship in a book?
Probably the relationship between Monty and Felicity in The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I realised I haven’t read many books lately with blood relatives, and a lot that I have read have been found families so this was a tricky question!
The Easter Bunny – A popular book character that you’re not a big fan of
The Darkling. I don’t get the appeal of him at all. He’s a creep!
Nook’s Loans – An author you’d give all your money to
Leigh Bardugo. No hesitation, no question, no mourners, no funerals.
The Sisters Able – What is your favourite fictional family (found or otherwise)?
The Dregs from Six of Crows, of course! One of the best found families!
It’s a C+ – What is a book trope you don’t like that keeps popping up?
I really can’t stand instalove – sometimes it pops up in books where I’m not expecting it and it really knocks down my enjoyment of it!
The Wandering Camel – What is your favourite book set in a land far away from yours?
At the moment, it’s The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet. It’s set in space which certainly is very far!
What Would Dodos Do? – A fictional land you wish you could fly away to at any moment?
I think I’d like to go to Hobbiton, as it seems like a lovely and peaceful place which we could all do with right now.
